Michael Moore is back and just as bad as ever. Look, Moore did get Trump’s victory right – he alone among hysterical liberals predicted Trump’s stunning win.
That shows that he does have a feel for what is going on in middle America, unlike the rest of the elites who think they know better.
But, instead of playing it straight, Moore is a bomb thrower and that is where he loses people who otherwise may even agree with him on certain points.
And what he just said about President Trump is beyond ridiculous.
From The Daily Caller:
Michael Moore declared that President Donald Trump will be “the last President of the United States” because he has “no intention of leaving the White House” in a clip from “Fahrenheit 11/9” first posted by The Hollywood Reporter.
“Donald Trump is an evil genius. He has no intention of leaving the White House. Whenever he hears that another country has a president for life, he perks up and thinks, ‘I like the sound of that!’ And he has an obedient political party that holds every seat of power backing him up,” the 64-year-old filmmaker said Thursday during an interview with the Huffington Post about his anti-Trump film.
“American journalism schools have not trained students how to cover an authoritarian leader. Our media has no idea what it is up against,” he added. “They’re getting steamrolled by a tyrant because Trump understands media and understands the country he lives in more than those that cover him do. This puts us all in grave danger. If nothing else, I hope this film exposes that grave danger and shows people the way out.”
Later, he explained that “hope is passive” and the only way to “save the country” was to take “action.”
“Fuck hope,” Moore said. “Seriously, fuck hope. Fuck despair, too. But fuck hope.”
“Hope is passive,” he added. “Hope gives you permission to let someone else do the work. Hope leads people to believe that tax returns, or a pee tape, or the FBI or an adult film star will save the country. Hope, and the passivity that comes with it, is what helped get us here to begin with. It’s the lazy way out.
“We don’t need hope. We need action,” he continued. “The revolution is happening in the most unlikely of places. The resistance– the true resistance–is not coming from the Democratic Party or from the liberal establishment. I can’t reveal too much right now, but there is a real insurgency taking place. I don’t know if it will succeed or not. It might be too late. ”
